Dear Parents,
I hope you had a good Winter break and wish you a Happy New Year.
I’m glad to report things are settling down nicely after a hectic first term. Our young people took a long time getting to know each other and are still establishing themselves into the ‘pecking order’ (which is always interesting to note!)
Fajri our trainee teacher is sadly leaving us very soon and we wish him all the best for his career elsewhere in Special Needs Education. He has been popular with the students , having a keen sense of humour and infectious wit. We will miss him.
Jane, who was teaching with us temporarily, is also moving back to teach within the Primary unit at Brighton, she too will be missed greatly.
We have been looking at attendance last term and I’m pleased to report that apart from lateness our figures are pretty good. Thank you! Lateness is often beyond our control and lies in the Lap of the Gods (or the taxi drivers as we know them!), or the traffic conditions.
Behaviour has been good overall, with few real misdemeanours. We were complimented today by a visiting parent who didn’t realise we had a full compliment of children and staff on the premises as it was so quiet and calm!
Wishing you all the best for the New Year.
Simon and The Team@Lancing
